Return to the Illustration Gallery AT&T Employee Giving Campaign This project depicts C-level leadership as race contestants competing in a community fundraiser. To promote the campaign and encourage employee donations and team spirit, images were updated in weekly email to reflect each team's place in the contest. I compiled an image catalog of motorcycles, classic and modern sports cars and asked that each exec choose a vehicle as a fun way to express their personal style. I was told these folks aren't allowed to ride motorcycles, so I suggested that was more reason to let them show their personalities through a cartoon, and it was agreed. Sure enough, we have a rider. Once vehicles were selected, I extracted portraits and combed the web for costumes and body parts to suit each vehicle, and thought of gags to lampoon winning or losing rankings - the winners popping wheelies or leaving behind a trail of flames, and the losing vehicle leaving a trail of smoke and skid marks. The blimp offers a count for the total funds raised, showering the stands (community) with cash, and participation scoreboards precede each organization's leader who waves the checkered flag at the finish line. |
