American Cancer Society Projects have included an e-card and a site redesign proposal. The e-card is intended to drive donations for breast cancer research. I was aware of other campaigns like savethetatas.org, breastfest.org, and another called Artfull Bras, all of which embrace a fun approach targeted towards young women. Fortunately, ACS was on board with doing something fun as well. ACS called for a breakfast theme, so I pitched four concepts, and they chose the 'Burlesque Breakfast in Bed' which they toned down, renaming it 'The Morning Show'. The website redesign proposal was created as a bid presentation tool for Skill Q, Inc. I was asked to evaluate the site and make recommendations for redesign, so in doing so I also created a quick interactive visual explanation that could be used for pitching, which proved successful. The regional office was concerned that certain aspects of the first rendition of the e-card were too suggestive. Originally, the finale featured a strutting pig sporting a bacon boa which was eliminated along with several other elements. The orange tree, for example, boasted two very voluptuous oranges and was moving to a tango. ACS also asked to increase the tempo, so I trimmed down the scenes in a few spots and adjusted the frame rate from 12 frames per second to 17 fps, improving the overall feel tremendously. Thankfully, ACS also improved their copy.
