The cartoons in this series are culled from their original contexts, written in my personal notebooks, so they make little sense without some explanation. I later realized how the forms were fun, loose, and expressive, so I wanted to ink them cleanly and consider the difference between my more controlled, illustrative style and this less self-conscious attitude of 'thinking out loud'.

The image shown here depicts the gestures of an intimidator and the submissive recoil. For some reason, the aggressor looks a little bit like the Krazy Kat characters, I think it began with the little redneck mustache, and dog ears seemed like the right fit for such a character.
