At this stage, I wanted to increase the sense of dimension, and make the wave motion more complex,
so I solid projected each frame of the existing animation onto a piece of wavering geometry
in Power Animator, and converted each frame to a solid texture, so it would stretch the texture
(note the animation of the surface color map, along with the motion of the underlying geometry).
The wave of the geometry was created with offset clusters, and results in a perfectly fluid cloth
effect, as if achieved dynamically as a soft body animation. The method of cluster animation,
animated shader, and conversion of solid-projected texture were three techniques I had focused on as
potentials of organic modeling and animation. This component became the new element of construction,
which I brought back into After Effects to complete the remaining generations.
